London Trail : Andrew Logan > Duggie Fields #3
Duggie Fields draws us into his paintings
I was introduced to Duggie in a shoot we did in his Earl's Court apartment in 2011. He had moved in with Syd Barrett in 1968 and was a loved member of a group of london-based artists including Zandra Rhodes, John Pearse, Andrew Logan, caroline coon... who I was also fortunate to meet at around the same time through my most interesting person project.
Dougie was proof of a london filled with creativity, style and glamour - yet he was down to earth and proudly local. The demolition of Earl's Court was a cause he spoke about frequently along with a regular output of ideas and art up until very recently.
He asked to make his portrait look as if he was inside his painting. I dont know If i succeeded, he was walking art.
