Carlos Augusto Martins Lacaz, commonly known as Guto Lacaz, was born on September 40, 1948. He is a Brazilian multimedia artist who specializes in graphic and plastic design.

Guto views art as a form of energy, akin to listening to beautiful music, and he studied electronics before graduating in architecture in 1974 at São José dos Campos. He has created 17 books with a focus on humor and surprise.

Guto believes that Fernando Pessoa's claim that Newton's equation E = mc2 is a work of art is accurate, as it offers another perspective on the world. He integrates physics and art in his work and believes that physicists and artists are both engaged in creating art.

His most interesting person is Amâncio Friaca, a Brazilian physicist who transcends the boundaries of physics and science. He specializes in areas cosmology and astrobiology.
